Every once in a while, do you receive a phone call that you can't take right now, but you want to return the call soon? Here are some slightly modified instructions that a representative from HTC just sent me as to how, with your HTC Thunderbolt, to silence a call and, as desired, notify the caller by text message at the same time. (My phone currently has Android 2.3.4. I'm not sure whether this same process works with other HTC phones.)
To silence an incoming call ring or vibration:
-press the POWER button once.
To reject an incoming call:
-Press the POWER button twice.
-To reject the call and send a text message, press MENU, and then tap Send Message. Edit the default text message that appears, if desired, and tap Send.
To change the text message to send out for rejected calls
1. On the Phone dialer screen, press MENU.
2. Tap Settings > Edit default message.
3. Enter the new message, and then tap OK.
Let me know if this helps you.
